Food- yes. So good! The bacon was the best I've ever had. Not oily, dry and crispy. Service - our server was amazing. She was so attentive and great with conversation. Ambiance - the home-y perfect vibe for breakfast food. If I lived in Boise, probably would come here 3x a week.
Love this place. Came here for a birthday breakfast and it was amazing. Was on a Sunday morning when our party of 8 (only seats up to 8 people!) arrived around 10. The owner is so genuine and personal and took our name down for a wait. There's coffee and seating in the waiting area however we headed across the parking lot to grab some Starbucks which was very convenient. About a hourish wait. We were texted when our table was ready and headed on over! Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. They make everything in house so she told us it may take awhile to get food. However they give out the complimentary scone and even a birthday one too with a little chant and candle. I ordered the Breakfast Quesadilla which was HUGE! Lots of leftovers. Tried a bite of the sourdough pancakes, not for me- a unique taste but to each their own! So fun to just look around at all the quirky decor. The bathroom was clean and full of silly decorations as well. It was a great experience. Came back 2 weeks later for breakfast but was in a rush and wait was about a hour. Too hungry to wait that long but will be back again soon! Owner once again was very kind and said she's looking forward to seeing us come back! This place rocks.
Charming breakfast spot. This is a perfect for a family breakfast or something a little special. Menu is heavy of egg options, but they also have a "create your own" platter that can be great for the most picky eaters. Egg Mann invests heavy in service. The hosts and staff make you feel welcome and part of the family. They also lean in on touches like name plaques to mark your table and free coffee during the wait room. The place is quirky and folksy in the best possible ways. Completely worth the cost (not cheap but also not crazy!) Full recommendation!
Wow, first time here (thank you Idaho Press Boise Eats! I had heard of this restaurant but never been. It's wonderful, lots of kitschy art on the walls and down home food. Your breakfast starts with a complimentary scone which is very mush like the beignets of New Orleans, it's big enough to share. Then the menu is so full of goodness you're salivating before long. I had the "Netflix and Chill" breakfast with 3 scrambled eggs, their incredible bacon and hangover hashbrowns which are ooey gooey cheesy marvels. It was two meals! You don't have to wait for Sunday breakfast, get on over there but fair warning - go hungry!
This place is located in a strip mall. We didn't know what to expect but from the moment we walked in until the moment we left we were impressed. Lots of kitschy eclectic decor. The wait staff called us by name and made recommendations. They were busy but the service was great. And the food was absolutely delicious!! The servings are huge so bring an appetite!! We can't wait to go there again next time we are in Boise!!
Epic breakfast, epic service and decor. A go-to when family and friend are in from out of town. A treat for just us. Try not to go hungry because there *will* be a wait (for a reason), but they do a great job of letting you enjoy your breakfast while still moving guests through
The best service and food!! Be prepared to wait, we came on a weekend and the wait was about an hour. Just give them your phone number and they will text you when your table is almost ready and give you about ten minutes to arrive. We killed time going to the Starbucks right across and walking around. They have a waiting area with lots of seating, interesting decor, and things to play with / take pictures with. All the employees were so kind, they are like a family and they treat their customers like family as well. The welcome card on our table was so cute too. I don't even like sweets usually but the complimentary puff pastry scone was absolutely divine!!! I almost didn't care about the food I ordered. I was happy with the scone alone. I received my salmon eggs benedict and it was super yummy as well. Good portions. This is one of the BEST brunch spots I have ever been to. This is a MUST try if you are ever in Boise! Lots of free parking spots available within the lot (huge plus because it's difficult in downtown!).
It's about once a year, but every time we visit Boise, Egg Mann and Earl is a must. We tend to always have hangover hashbrowns, which are absolutely amazing, but we also try some other things. We usually turn down the puff pastry scone, but this time we had one and loved it. We think about this place often, even when we are not even close to it. We compare it to other brunch places, which usually cannot compare.
I absolutely love this little mom and pop breakfast and brunch spot. I will most likely keep coming back! The restaurant can get really busy if you don't come early, especially on the weekends. However, you can play cards or board games while you wait. The food portion is absolutely humongous. Be careful what you order before you take it to go. They also give you a free powdered donut or beignet, which I love. My favorite is their egg benedicts! Their scratch made hollandaise sauce is amazing. Service is always good. Food is delicious. Interior is very cozy and unique. A must visit!
Inside out: there is usually ample parking from what I've seen, just maybe not incredibly close. It's in a strip mall for the exterior. Inside is wild decoration, but absolutely eclectic and what I would say is "thrift" or "goblin" decor in a good way! It's very comfortable. Service: depending on when you go, you're gonna wait. Everyone is friendly and they have a great system to get people in. We went yard sailing while we waited because if you go during peak times- you'll have time. So don't go starving and grumpy. The staff was incredible fun and seemed at least from the outside to be getting along and working well together. Food: This is some of the best breakfast- is it expensive? Yeah kinda, but it is delicious. The salmon Benny is just incredible. They smoke their own salmon and I wanted to lick the hollandaise sauce off the plate. The sourdough pancakes were just divine and the free scone? SO GOOD! I enjoyed everything, my parents did too, we tried what the other ones got and every bite was tasty. Overall: highly recommend! If you have sound sensitivity I recommend bringing headphones or LOOPS during the busy times.
